Database migration is the process of taking data from one location and moving it to another location. This can include copying information from one database on a computer and moving that information to another computer. Another solution is to properly test your database prior to, during and after the migration process. Not doing adequate testing can result in failed migration efforts and a loss of time and money spent on the process.

Database migration proves to be beneficial for business processes, provided, if it is properly planned and tested end to end. Moving data to a new platform can be seamless, but similarly it will be likely a time consuming process and this requires good amount of efforts.
